Leica Fieldsports Photographer of the Year 2017

It's back! Once again Fieldsports Magazine and leading sport optics manufacturer Leica are looking for truly outstanding photographers in this, the definitive photography competition for the fieldsports industry. Simply put, we're looking for the best in the business. Whether you are a keen amateur, aspiring professional or a Fleet Street veteran, this is your opportunity to showcase your talent. We want to see your all-time favourite photographs, images that encapsulate and encompass the sports you love. Competition closes at midnight on April 15, 2017. 


Overall winner: Leica Ultravid HD-Plus 8x42 binoculars worth £1,830.

Runner-up: Leica Trinovid Compact 8x20 binoculars worth £390.

Category prizes...

Shooting: A walked-up mixed species day for two Guns at the Bodfuan Shoot in North Wales.

Stalking: A day's fallow, roe and/or muntjac stalking in the south of England with Steve Rawsthorne from Holland & Holland.

Fishing: A day's guided fly fishing on a prestigious English chalkstream, courtesy of Aardvark McLeod.

Gundogs: A one-to-one training session with gundog expert Ben Randall of Beggarbush Gundogs.

Other: A two-hour falconry experience, flying a range of birds of prey in Northumberland, with Pennine Falcons.
