Ingredients

25ml Raisthorpe Manor Sloe Gin (per glass)

1 litre of fresh cloudy apple juice (makes four to five servings)

12 cloves

5 star anise

5 cardamom pods

3 cinnamon sticks

1 vanilla pod (or extract)

1 orange

100ml fresh water (boiling)

You will need...

Latte glass or mug

Saucepan and lid

Ladle

Knife

Spirit measurer

Method

Pour apple juice into the saucepan on a low heat and add 100ml of boiling water. Cut the vanilla pod lengthways and add to the pan. Drop in the remaining spices and stir gently, cover and simmer for about 30 minutes. Do not let the mixture boil. Meanwhile cut the orange in half and slice. Once heated, add the mulled apple to the mugs/glasses until two thirds full with the ladle. Pour in a single measure of Raisthorpe sloe gin, lay an orange slice on the top of the drink and serve.
